Mason City Public Library District

Welcome to the Library

On October 19th, the library will change hours to better serve our students who are back in school.  The new hours will be:
Beginning October 19th  Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*Should the school buildings need to close and classes go to online only for more than a week, the library hours will go back to Tuesday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The opening of the library as well as the time open will be re-evaluated on a continuing basis during the pandemic.  A maximum capacity of ten will be allowed in the building at one time with more restrictions in the children's area.  Please call the library ahead of time if you have not visited the library since it re-opened, to ensure you are aware of and can comply with all restrictions. Masks must be worn and a 30 minute time limit is enforced. If you cannot wear a mask, please call the library to make arrangements. Bathrooms/water fountain are still unavailable.  All returns should be placed in the book drop outside and not brought into the building. Please do not bring anything into the library with you as a preventative measure.  Printing, faxing and computer access are limited and appointments must be made for these services.  As always, the online resources the library has are still available 24/7 and questions you might have about library resources can be answered by calling the library at (217) 482-3799 during our open hours.

Again, we regret any inconvenience this may cause, but the health safety of everyone is the priority.  Thank you for your continued support and co-operation in our endeavor to keep everyone safe.
